I had been looking forward to Jake and Lauren’s wedding all summer! From Lauren’s very first email to me, I could tell that she was an incredibly sweet person! Jake and Lauren are one of those couples that just have that extra special something! You could tell that they were in love and SO ready to spend their lives together! Their day was amazing! They were surround be people that were just like them (super sweet!)! It was so special! I don’t think that I have ever meet a bridal party who was so sweet and so encouraging, it seriously made my job so easy and fun! Looking back over this past paragraph, you may realize that I may need to expand my vocabulary some, because I used the word “sweet” about 10 times! While, I think that that is probably true, I also used that word because that is exactly what describes Jake and Lauren, their friends and family, and their amazing day! A huge thanks to my fantastic second shooter, Lauren, who I don’t know what I would have done without! Some of her amazing pictures are throughout!
Her dress was like a dream! I could have photographed it for hours!
One of my all time favorites!!!
First Looks are incredible.
This old car was parked here for another wedding, but I thought it would be worth it to ask the driver if we could use it for a few portraits, and he agreed! Ah! Couldn’t have planned this better!
Love this one!
Ah! New favorite!
Sometimes when I shoot the ceremony, I feel like I am just checking to make sure that bride is in focus and that the composition is correct and I don’t even see the expressions because I am going so fast. When I uploaded all of the images from the day, I saw this and almost cried!
Mr. and Mrs.!!!!
Thank you both for allowing me to be a part of your day! I have loved getting to know you and I so hope that you are enjoying the beginning of married life so far!

Kelli and Will are a super sweet and incredible couple! After our session got rained out the week before, I was so glad when the sun shined on our makeup day! Will and Kelli were so much fun to work with and so photogenic, it made the session a breeze! (I really wanted to say “as easy as pie” here, because I love pie, but then I thought it sounded funny. Well now I just said it, so I guess it sounds funny after all…) The lighting was perfect, the weather was amazing, and this couple couldn’t be any cuter! Enjoy my favorites, and Will and Kelli, I can’t wait for April! :)You are so gorgeous, Kelli!Ah, love this one!Love these!
I am a sucker for anything field or hay bale-ish (yes, I know that that isn’t a real word! But if you let it slide, I might give you a piece of pie! That is from earlier remember?… ok… moving on!) This is one of my new favorite all time pictures! I love how you can see more hay bales in the background too!Another favorite!!!
Today for Wedding Wednesday, I wanted to do something a little different! Actually TWO things a little different!
First, I want to do a Q+A all about weddings! Whether this a photography question or a question from a bride about planning, dresses or even what my wedding colors were — ask away! Just leave a comment below or send me an email – email@example.com – and I will post the answers NEXT week on Wedding Wednesday!
Also……. I usually do a contest at the end of the year and offer a canvas to the couple who receives the most likes….. but I am going to do another one — RIGHT NOW! Every couple who’s wedding that I shot this summer, will be entered! Whoever receives the most votes, will receive a 20×30 canvas! Yay!

It was such a privilege to be able to be a part of Josh + Candace’s wedding day! I LOVE it whenever I get the opportunity to travel, and this was such a great experience! Josh and Candace were married in Michigan, and since I live in Virginia, I got to fly to Michigan! I feel so humbled when I have clients from out of town who choose me, because they are willing to bring me from far away, just for their wedding! I also love clients who view pictures as the most important part of the wedding day, because then they are committed to getting great images and willing to do anything so that that happens! Candace is also a wedding photographer, so she definitely understands the importance of wedding photography! I don’t think I have ever seen a bride who was more excited to see the day-of-wedding slideshow than her! I loved her enthusiasm throughout the entire day! I absolutely loved being able to be a part of Josh and Candace’s day! Their wedding party was wonderful, Josh and Candace were so in love and amazing to work with, and everything looked beautiful! Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of your day, and for bringing me up to Michigan!
Having a great hanger for your dress is super important! You don’t want to have your gorgeous, expensive dress hanging on a cheap plastic hanger! I absolutely LOVED it that Candace had a fantastic hanger for her dress! This barn was only 30 seconds down the road from the church, and Candace and the bridesmaids were willing to drive there so we could use this awesome barn! Thanks guys! These turned out great! The florals were all amazing! I loved her bouquet! The lighting was fantastic!
Absolutely LOVE THIS!!!Candace gave me plenty of time to shoot the details! She even kept out all of the guests herself so that I could shoot for as long as I wanted!Loved their cake!I even had time to do sunset pictures and more portraits with Josh and Candace! Bride and groom portraits are my FAVORITE part of the day, and you can never have too many! :)A red canoe by a lake? YES PLEASE! This seemed just like a Michigan wedding to me!!!!They were even willing to get in the water! LOVE IT!
Even though we had a few malfunctions, Eric and Emily’s session still turned out wonderful! From fields of full of allergy causing things, to a 97 year old lady scared that we would be attacked by her donkeys and discovering that our first barn choice had been torn down — we were able to still capture some great images!!!! I first met Emily 4 or 5 years ago when we were camp counselors at the same summer camp. We hit it off that summer and have been oh so wonderful facebook friends :). When I saw that she got engaged to Eric, I was secretly hoping she would ask me to shoot her wedding! A few days after she said yes, Emily contacted me, and we made everything official for October 20th! Thanks guys for being brave and flexible! I hope you enjoy your images, and I am so excited for your wedding in October!
The lighting was perfect! I LOVE all of these!
