Chelsey and Sean are an amazing and super sweet couple! When we first began their engagement session, they were a little nervous, but they definitely didn’t need to be, because they did awesome! They are so cute together and so photogenic! :) We were supposed to do their session on a Sunday afternoon, but we rescheduled because of rain. I am so glad we did, because the day and the weather were perfect! Chelsey and Sean are one of those couples who just have that special “it” factor. You can tell that they are so in love and ready to get married! I am so excited to shoot their wedding in July, I can’t wait!
We began their session on the steps of the courthouse downtown, because that is where Sean proposed!!! :)
So cute together!!!Definitely a favorite!!!Love this one!!Chelsey had on these amazing shoes, and I made them walk through something muddy and they got dirty! So sorry girl! But thanks for being willing to sacrifice the shoes for some great images! :)Look at that bling! Sean, you did a great job!!!Love these!!1Absolutely love this one!! Canvas??
This was the first time that I got to meet Addie and Shawn in person, and it was great! When Addie first booked me, we just talked on the phone, so I was really looking forward to their engagement session, so that I had the chance to meet her in person! We had sent so many emails back and forth, I felt like we were friends already! Addie and Shawn are such a fun and sweet couple! We had such a good time walking around downtown together! Even though we probably walked two miles to hit all the spots we wanted, they were such good sports and were willing to do whatever! I love it when clients aren’t afraid to sit on the ground, stand in high grass or walk through sketchy places in order to get great images! These two were no exception! Thanks guys for sitting in dirty streets and laying in grass to get some great stuff! You all are the best and I can’t wait to be a part of your day in September!
Addie and Shawn are getting married at a restored train depot back home, so we thought it was perfect to start our session on train tracks!
Absolutely love this one!!!! Definitely a fav!You guys are so cute together! Fav #2!Gorgeous! You are going to be a stunning bride, Addie! This was already spray painted on the wall! Thank you to whoever put it there! But we definitely took advantage of it! Ah, I love flowers!!!
I was honored to be a part of Sarah + Bryan’s day! You may remember their Fall engagement session, if not, you can see it here! Their wedding was in Virginia Beach, and was supposed to be on the beach. Well… it ended up raining ALL day. They had to change the ceremony to be under a pavilion, and the reception was moved from the rooftop bar to a ballroom.
However, I have never seen a couple who had a better attitude. Some people would be upset and disappointed that it rained out their original wedding plan. But Sarah and Bryan knew it wasn’t about getting married on the beach, but rather about getting to spend the rest of their lives with each other! And as a result, their images are full of such great emotion! Sarah didn’t care that she had to run through the rain to get to the pavilion where they were getting married, she was just excited to see Bryan waiting for her at the end of the aisle.
I was so blessed by all of Sarah and Bryan’s friends and family! It was an incredible day! Even though it rained and we had to be creative with the images, it was a day I will never forget!
Love Bryan’s face as he holds his bride’s hand! Bryan brought Sarah coffee! He is going to be a good husband! :)Whenever ANYONE cries at a wedding, it always makes me cry too! I can’t help myself! I am way too emotional! My husband will definitely tell you that :)A few people have asked me how we got these images on the beach when it rained all day. Well, believe it or not, it was still raining here. I was definitely shooting these images out from under an umbrella! Sarah and Bryan were total champs to stand out in it in order to get some amazing shots! I love it when couples are willing to do whatever is necessary to get great pictures! Such a fun reception!

I can’t even tell you how excited I am for Jessi + Wade’s wedding! From our first meeting at Starbucks to their engagement session last week, every time I have hung out with them, I have felt like we are good friends! They are such a sweet and generous couple, and I can’t wait to shoot their gorgeous wedding in July! I know that for some photographers, an overcast day is like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Well, I am not one of those. For me, I LOVE sunny days! I love shooting into the sun and using it to backlight my couples. The day that we shoot Jessi + Wade’s session, it looked like it was about to pour an second. All day, I kept checking weather.com every 5 minutes afraid it was going to rain! Thankfully, they decided to go for it anyway, and we had an amazing time! The sun even came out at the end! :) And to top it all of, they even took Chris and I out to dinner at one of our favorite places! (See what I mean about being sweet and generous!) Jessi and Wade, I am so thrilled to be a part of your wedding day, and I am so glad I have gotten the chance to get to know you all and become your friend! :) I hope you enjoy your images!
From the first email I got from Tiffany, I knew that she would be the most fun person! When we first met, we talked for over an hour, we just really hit it off! She is so outgoing, funny and her and her fiance Calvin are the cutest couple! Tiffany defined Calvin as “a mountain man,” and they therefore wanted a “mountain love” engagement session! We went to a part of the Appalachian Trail and Calvin set up a little campsite! They are so sweet together and laugh all the time! They made my job easy :) Tiffany is also a photographer too, and that always makes me a little nervous! I am so excited for their rustic October wedding, enjoy a few of my favorites below!
When I first started my photography business, I shot pretty much everything. Family pictures, seniors, weddings, engagements – I even did a 50th surprise birthday party once. However, I quickly realized that if I did EVERYTHING then there wasn’t something that I SPECIALIZED in. There wasn’t something that I focused on, there wasn’t something that I was known for. I then decided that I didn’t want to do everything. I just wanted to do so the things I enjoyed the most, and felt like I excelled at. Not that family pictures or senior sessions aren’t wonderful – I even know photographers where that is THEIR specialty! – but I just realized that for me, that wasn’t what I wanted to do. Some photographers are super great at getting little kids attention and playing with them and making the session fun. After many sweaty sessions of trying to do that, and ending up with only a few pictures where everyone was actually looking at the camera, I decided that wasn’t for me. I decided that I just wanted to do engagements and weddings. I just wanted to focus my business on couples and weddings. However, I do have good friends who I will occasionally shoot other things for. F0r example, some good friends of Chris and mine are moving to Kentucky in a couple of weeks, and wanted me to do some pictures for them before I left. Or the perfect example that is below, and has taken me two paragraphs to get to – is WHITNEY! Whitney was on my hall my last year as a RA. She is one of the sweetest girls I have ever met! I LOVE her! I loved doing curfew checks every night (yes, at LU we had to do curfew checks every night. All you other people who were RA’s somewhere else have NO idea what I am talking about!) and talking with her and her roommate Brittani! I looked forward to getting to their room so we could TALK! Whitney is so sweet and great, and was super excited to get some graduation pictures to commemorate her time at LU! She told me that it was her graduation present for herself! I LOVED that!!! I was so excited that she wanted to invest in something so great! :) I love people who love pictures, because I LOVE pictures! Anyway… without further to do, here is the lovely Whitney! Congrats girl on graduating and thanks for all that driving and walking through that sketchy field with me! I hope you enjoy your pictures and your new job! :)
